Cookie Policy
How cookies and browser storage are used across TheStudyStack.
Last updated: 25 April 2026
Summary
TheStudyStack uses cookies and browser storage needed to sign users in, remember preferences, keep the app stable, and support revision workflows. We did not identify advertising cookies or non-essential marketing analytics in the current codebase.
Strictly necessary storage
- -Authentication cookies and session storage from Clerk, used to sign you in, keep your account secure, and manage account sessions.
- -Convex connection and session state needed for authenticated app features and real-time updates.
- -Security and rate-limit state used to protect the service from abuse.
Preference and app storage
- -Theme preference in local storage so the app can remember your display choice.
- -Chunk-recovery state in session storage so the app can recover from a failed JavaScript update without looping reloads.
- -Live quiz and classroom interface state, where needed to keep an in-progress workflow usable.
- -Admin or dashboard filters, where needed to restore the current view.
Analytics and marketing
The current site should not set non-essential analytics, advertising, or marketing cookies before consent. If analytics, heatmaps, ads, or retargeting are added later, this page and the consent controls must be updated before those tools are enabled.
Managing storage
You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings. If you do, sign-in sessions and saved preferences may be reset, and some in-progress workflows may need to be restarted.
Contact
Questions about cookies or browser storage can currently be raised through the account owner, teacher, or school contact that invited you to TheStudyStack. A dedicated public privacy contact should be added before a wider public launch.
