Cookie Policy
Every cookie and piece of browser storage we use, and why.

The short version
- -We only use cookies and browser storage to sign you in, save your progress and remember your settings.
- -No analytics, no adverts and no tracking, so there is no cookie banner to click through.
- -If we ever add anything optional, we will ask first, and saying no will be as easy as saying yes.
1.What this covers
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Websites can also save information in local storage, session storage and IndexedDB. The law treats all of these the same way, so this page lists everything TheStudyStack saves on your device. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, we do not need to ask before saving things that are strictly necessary for a service you asked for, or that only remember how you like the site to look and work. That is all we use.
3.Storage the app uses
Everything below stays in your browser and is not shared with anyone else. Items marked "this tab" disappear when you close the tab. Everything else stays until you clear it.

4.What we do not use
We do not use analytics, advertising or social media cookies, tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or third-party fonts and video embeds. The only outside services your browser connects to are Clerk, for sign-in and profile pictures, Google or Microsoft if you choose to sign in with them, and Convex, our database. Convex uses a live connection and sets no cookies.
If we ever want to add optional analytics, we will update this page first and ask for your permission with a clear choice to say no.
5.Controlling storage
You can delete cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time. If you do, you will be signed out and your settings will reset. Progress that only saves on this device, such as some CS Labs games, will be lost. Your account progress is safe.
You can change settings like theme and sound in the app. On shared school computers, sign out when you finish so the next person cannot use your account.
